Who we are
Red Square Flowers houseplant and floral boutique was founded with a simple but important goal: to bring back traditions of garden, soil and nature, blend them with latest technology to embrace modern living. We are committed to providing a sophisticated elegance that is guaranteed to make your home, event, personal occasion, or wedding something truly special. The nature is our biggest inspiration with botanical gifts to all of us.
Red Square Flowers was founded in December 2012 in Fitchburg WI. Since then we have been relocated to downtown Madison WI in August 2015 and are happy to join capitol area businesses. In June 2017 we had opened our second location on State street.
Our mission and philosophy
Our mission is to bring modern, earthy, minimalist design to your home and offer unique and thoughtful experience. We do not work with any national wire service companies which help us to stay loyal to our local market, as well as to control our quality and meticulous attention to detail . We are proud to introduce Madison to a fresh, outside of the box concept that blends modern trends with the traditions of the old world.
Everything we do is set to the highest and finest quality and service standards. Every detail matters as a principal rule at Red Square Flowers. Our moto: when unique and thoughtful matters, says it all.
About the owner
Red Square Flowers owner, Alina Poletskova, has been passionate about flora and fauna since her childhood. Growing up, she used to help her grandparent’s at their farm in the remote Russian village to grow crops and flowers, fruits and vegetables. Back then it was all done the old fashion way, by hand using simple hand held tools and no extensive machinery.
Later in life, Alina graduated with a mechanical engineering degree before immigrating to the United States. She spent a year in Netherlands learning the finest floral techniques and mechanics as well as plantscaping artistry.
Red Square Flowers features flowers, plants and planters that comes directly from California, Costa Rica, Hawaii, Ecuador and Holland.
As Alina says, “Every time I walked into any florist shop I had the feeling of tranquility and peace. It was mesmerizing. The fragrance of the flowers, moss and organic soil. I felt that I have some kind of connection to living plants and now I realize what it was. My passion for nature, colors, textures, art, architecture and the desire to bring people closer to their beginnings. It is a tradition in Europe to bring fresh flowers or a plant with a visit to a friend or a party. Sincerely and from the bottom of their hearts.”
