Bird of Paradise
$55.00 – $289.00
The Bird of Paradise plant (Strelitza nicolai) is one of the most popular house plants in the world for good reason: it is easy to care for and its large, structural leaves bring style and grace to any setting. Bird of Paradise exhibits tall stalks carrying broad green leaves with a glossy finish and often produces new leaves. It is common for older leaves to tear and curl over time.
The Bird of Paradise is a semi-tropical plant native to the subtropical regions of Asia and New Guinea. It can withstand brief periods of drought between waterings, and it thrives in medium to higher light spaces.
LIGHT REQUIREMENTS
Bright indirect light. Though they can tolerate lower light conditions, Bird of Paradise will not thrive long term without adequate sun light and we recommend always placing them in the vicinity of a window.
WATER REQUIREMENTS
Be sure to water your plant upon delivery. Bird of Paradise prefer moist (but not soggy) soil. Try to never let the soil dry completely, but be careful not to over water. Generally, it is optimal to water when the top 2″ – 3″ of the soil are dry.
HUMIDITY PREFERENCE
Bird of Paradise love humidity and will reward regular misting with profuse growth. However, they are very adaptable to dry spaces. Be sure to place your plant away from hot or cold air drafts.
